about me
Cara Siera
I'm a writer. I'm a world traveler. I'm a home chef. Well, that pretty much sums it up...
During the summer of 2014, a friend took me to a Thai restaurant in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. I'd never had Thai before, but I was eager to try it. One bite of green curry with soft-shell crab, and I was hooked. There was only one problem. There was no Thai restaurant in my home town.
So, what could I do but learn to cook fabulous dishes for myself?
I soon realized that cooking, eating, and experiencing unfamiliar foods is more than just satisfying hunger. It is a portal into another world, a glimpse at the daily life of those of other cultures. Nothing is more universal than sharing a meal. As such, there's no easier way to foster cultural empathy in our increasingly connected world.

Furthermore, I really, really really like to cook. Chopping, slicing, sauteing - those are synonyms for therapy. Cooking makes me happy, and I want to share that with others.
Ultimately, I'd like to publish a cookbook - no, a series of cookbooks. And I hope you'll buy them. But until then, I hope you'll follow my culinary journey. Subscribe to my newsletter so you'll never miss a recipe!
